Kristin Nelson

Crowned 2003 Humboldt County Fair Queen

Kristin Nelson of rural Humboldt was crowned 2003 Humboldt County Fair Queen on Thursday evening. Kristin is the daughter of Roger and Kathy Nelson and will be attending Drake University in a few weeks. She will represent Humboldt County at the Iowa State Fair Queen competition starting this week. She received a $100 savings bond from the Humboldt County Fair Board and a gift from Tim's Downtown Home Interiors. Named as runnerup was Jenna Norman, daughter of Clay and Pam Norman of rural Rutland. She received a $50 savings bond from Seiler Appliance and 10 tanning sessions from Hair Concepts and Tanning. Named as Miss Congeniality was Calli Ellsworth, daughter of Kent and Sue Ellsworth of Dakota City. She received diamond and ruby earrings from the Oxbow Chapter of Izaak Walton. The contest was coordinated by the Humboldt Business and Professional Women (BPW).
