Jamie Pedersen Crowned as 2002 Humboldt County Fair Queen
Humboldt County Fair Queen Jamie Pedersen finished up duties at the local fair on Sunday evening and two days later was in Des Moines for the start of the Iowa State Fair Queen competition. The daughter of Bob and Sue Pedersen of LuVerne is off to her first year of college at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg this week. The month of August has been a whirlwind for the personable 2002 graduate of Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne High School. "I’ve met so many wonderful people at the Humboldt County Fair and the Iowa State Fair. Even if I hadn’t won at the Humboldt County Fair, I had the most fun. I made a lot of friends," Pedersen said. Back in LuVerne, Jamie was active in volleyball, track, dance, band, served as Student Council President, was a member of the National Honor Society, Quiz Bowl, served as a DARE role model and as a Rock in Prevention mentor, is a FFA member, and was named to the North Star Conference All-Academic team. She attends Zion Lutheran Church in LuVerne. Her father, Bob, farms, and her mother, Sue, is a dental assistant. Her brother, Jason, is employed with K.C. Nielsen, Ltd., in Humboldt. Jamie works at Shopper’s Supply in Algona, and also helps her parents out on their farm. She enjoys being outside, fishing and hanging out with her friends.
