Humboldt County Agricultural Society Rental Agreement

This rental agreement is entered into by the Humboldt County Agricultural Society Board, hereinafter referred to as the Board and

­­hereinafter referred to as the Renter.  The Renter understands that other events may be scheduled on the grounds, in the grandstand and/or adjacent buildings.

The following property and space to be rented is owned by the Board and is described as follows:

Commons ($225)                Events Center ($225)                     Both ($400)

Rental date(s) shall begin and terminate as set out below:

 A deposit of $100.00 must be received within ten (10) days of the notification of your event.  We cannot guarantee the availability of your date if the deposit is not received in that time.  After the event, your deposit will be returned within thirty (30) days unless a rule violation occurs.  The building rental amount is due when the key is picked up and the key may be picked up the day prior to the event.  Clean up of the facility and grounds is to be completed the day after the event, unless otherwise stated in the agreement.  The deposit amount shall be forfeited to the Board should the Renter not provide the Board with a 60 day notice of an event cancellation.

Renter is to use the premises for the following purposes only:

 Anyone camping on the grounds will pay the Board $10.00 per night camping fees.

Renter shall not use the premises for any illegal purposes.  Renter shall not sell, or permit the same of alcoholic beverages or beer on the premises without the permission of the Board; however alcoholic beverages and/or beer may be given away at the event.

Renter shall be responsible for the conduct of all persons and will be held liable for any and all damages while Renter is in possession of said premises.

The premises rented cannot be sublet or assigned by the Renter.

All of the terms of this agreement are set out herein and the Board is not responsible for any oral agreement or representations by anyone in its behalf unless set out herein in writing.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

1.  THERE IS NO SMOKING IN ANY BUILDING.

2.  THE BEER IS TO BE SERVED IN THE COMMONS AREA ONLY.

3.  TACKS OR STICK PINS ARE THE ONLY MEANS OF HANGING ITEMS ON THE CARPETED WALLS.  THERE IS TO BE NO NAILS USED ANYWHERE IN THE BUILDINGS.  NOTHING MAY BE HUNG FROM THE CEILINGS.

4.  CLEAN THE KITCHEN AND RETURN EVERYTHING TO ITS PROPER PLACE.

5.  WIPE OFF THE TABLES AND CHAIRS AND REMOVE ANY AND ALL MATERIAL USED TO SUPPORT YOUR DECORATIONS ANY PLACE THEY ARE USED.  PLEASE DO NOT USE THE TABLES OR CHAIRS AS A LADDER.

6.  ONCE WIPED OFF ALL TABLES AND CHAIRS MUST BE PUT BACK THE WAY THEY WERE AND PLACED IN THE LEAN TO BUILDING ATTACHED TO THE COMMONS.  DO NOT DRAG THE TABLES.

7.  GARBAGE MUST BE EMPTIED FROM ALL GARBAGE CANS AND A NEW LINER PUT IN THEM.  THE SUPPLIES ARE IN THE COMMONS BUILDING CLOSET.

8.  FLOORS MUST BE SWEPT AND ANY BEER SPILLS MOPPED UP.  THE BROOMS AND MOPS ARE IN THE COMMONS BUILDING CLOSET.

9.  THE KEYS TO THE BUILDINGS MUST BE RETURNED BY 100PM THE DAY AFTER THE EVENT.

IF ANY OF THE ABOVE RULES ARE BROKEN THE PAID DEPOSIT WILL BE FORFEITED.
